Privacy Policy — Showbookr

This Privacy Notice describes how Baesc Studios ("Showbookr", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use the Showbookr website and service. We act as the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. What we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), and account settings.
Applicant & booking data — name, email, phone number, move-in date, occupants, pets, and any message a renter submits when booking a showing.
Property & note data — property details and any private notes you add about applicants.
Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and basic telemetry needed to operate the service.
Support messages — anything you send us by email or contact form.

2. How we use your data

To create and manage your account.
To manage showings, bookings, and renter communications.
To send transactional emails, such as booking confirmations and reminders.
To prevent fraud, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations.
To provide customer support and improve the product.

Our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Showbookr, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

3. How your data is stored

Your data is stored securely with our backend infrastructure provider, Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We use access controls so only authorised personnel can access systems containing personal data.

4. Third-party services we share data with

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
Paddle — our Merchant of Record for all payments. Paddle handles checkout, billing, tax, invoicing, and refunds. See Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Email delivery providers (e.g., Resend) — to send transactional emails such as booking confirmations.
Hosting & infrastructure providers — to deliver the website.
Authorities — where required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Request a portable copy of your data.
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption, access controls, and regular review of our systems — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the app.
